Brand & Marketing Strategy
We translate your ambitions into sharp positioning and a concrete marketing action plan. No lengthy reports, but a clear strategy that we implement together.

When do you need a brand & marketing strategy?
You’re already doing it all: social posts, campaigns, events, maybe even some Google Ads. But there’s no clear direction, your results are falling short of expectations, or your growth is based mostly on gut feeling. These are typical situations where we step in:
- You are a start-up or SME whose team knows the product or service inside out, but you have never formalized how you communicate it to the market.
- You are a scale-up or established SME looking to scale, and you’ve noticed that your current messaging no longer reflects the value you deliver. For example, following an acquisition, the launch of new services, or growth into new segments.
- You want to tap into a new target audience, launch a new product or service, or reposition yourself, and you want to thoroughly validate this before investing in it.
- You want to know where customers drop off in their journey and why, but you have never conducted structured research into this.
- You feel that your employer branding is lagging behind your growth plans.
- You don’t have the time or internal capacity to tackle this in a structured way.
Below, you can read about what we work on. Further down this page, you’ll see how we translate that into three concrete tracks, depending on how deep you want to go.

Brand strategy & positioning
We start at the core: where are you today and where do you want to go? Through brand analysis, competitor research, and sharp personas, we map out how you are currently perceived and who you really need to convince. Based on this, we develop your brand strategy and positioning: what is your story, what do you want to be known for, and how do you differentiate yourself from competitors? Where useful, we compare this against competitors in a positioning matrix or map, making it immediately clear where the opportunity lies to stand out.
We translate all of this into a clear brand identity: core values and USPs, a mission and vision, a tone of voice and brand personality, and an elevator pitch that everyone on your team can use. This brand foundation is the starting point upon which all marketing and communication is built, and it is delivered as a concrete, editable working document, not a theoretical report.
Marketing strategy
Next, we look at the market and your growth plans. Who are your ideal customers (ICPs) and which segments are the priority? Through interviews, surveys, and sometimes research into how your target audience talks about their challenges online, we uncover their language, pain points, and decision-making criteria in their own words. Based on this, we develop an overarching marketing strategy and a value proposition for each target segment: which propositions do you take to which audiences, via which routes, and what is the role of marketing in lead generation and sales?
Where relevant, we also map out your customer journey: the entire buying process of your customer, using a combination of your website and marketing data, an internal workshop with sales, marketing, and support, customer interviews, and optionally a validating survey. The result is a visual journey map with an emotional curve per phase, substantiated pain points and opportunities, and a prioritized action plan with an owner for each action item.
Communication strategy & communication plan
Then, we zoom in on how you will communicate. We map out the entire communication funnel, from awareness to consideration, desire, action, and loyalty, and determine the core message for each phase and target audience. We translate this into a practical communication plan: the right channel mix, reusable content formats, and a clear set of KPIs with a measurement plan. Not a theoretical model, but a manageable roadmap for your website, social media, email, events, and PR that your own team or our Unikoo team can get started with immediately.
Employer branding
Finally, we look at your position in the labor market. We help you formulate a clear employer value proposition: why would the right people want to work for your organization? Around this, we build a consistent employer branding that aligns with the brand foundation we developed above. This ensures your story resonates with both customers and talent, and your brand supports not only commercial growth but also the right influx of people.
Three tracks: how we approach this in practice
The building blocks above, brand strategy & positioning, marketing strategy, communication strategy & communication plan, and employer branding are central to every project. What varies is the depth and the research methods we apply. That is why we offer three tracks that can be used individually or followed sequentially as your company grows.

Foundations is designed to build your strategic foundation. Following a kick-off workshop, we develop your brand strategy & positioning into a clear positioning statement with 1 to 2 personas, based on a concise competitor analysis (3 to 5 players) and optional customer interviews. Your marketing and communication strategy are consolidated into a single practical action plan within your 'Tactical Advice Deck': quick wins you can implement immediately.
Growth sharpens those same building blocks for your next growth phase. We build a comprehensive positioning map based on 2 to 4 validated personas, informed by 5 to 10 customer interviews, a survey, a broader competitor analysis, and research into how your target audience discusses their challenges online. Your marketing strategy is enhanced with a data-driven customer journey map, and your communication plan is detailed with channel-specific recommendations for each segment.
Custom market research & validation adds a validation layer to those same building blocks before you finalize them. This track is modular: depending on your needs, we deploy a validation mix of focus groups, a validation survey, message testing via panels, and sometimes even ad testing. This ensures you know for certain whether your positioning, messaging, or business case will resonate with your target audience before you invest in it. The result is a validated messaging framework and an initial roadmap for your market launch.
These three tracks are a useful starting point to determine the level of depth you need, not a rigid framework. For many clients, we combine components to create a custom approach or engage in a less project-based way: as a permanent partner who joins your team, provides ongoing input on brand and marketing strategy, and evolves alongside your changing needs. The tracks above are an example of how we work, not the only way we can collaborate.
What comes next? From strategy to execution
Every track provides you with concrete working documents you can use immediately. Would you like us to handle the execution as well? Through our Growth Marketing Lifecycle, we systematically test, learn, and scale what truly drives growth for your marketing, based on the exact strategy and messaging we developed together.

Strategic marketing expertise, flexible availability
Not every organization needs a full-time Chief Marketing Officer. But many companies do reach a point where marketing requires more direction, structure, and senior expertise.
With CMO-as-a-service you bring in an experienced marketing expert who supports your organization at a strategic level. Someone who helps to bring focus, set priorities, and enable marketing to contribute more effectively to your growth ambitions. Whether it's refining your positioning, developing a marketing strategy, aligning marketing and sales, or guiding an internal team: we provide the right expertise, at the right time.
What is CMO-as-a-service?
CMO-as-a-service means you engage an experienced marketing professional who takes on the role of Chief Marketing Officer, but flexibly and tailored to your organization.
You gain access to strategic marketing expertise without immediately needing to hire a full-time CMO. This makes the model particularly attractive for growing companies, organizations in transition, or teams that require temporary senior guidance.
A CMO-as-a-service thinks along at a management level, but at the same time ensures that strategy is also translated into concrete actions, clear priorities, and tangible results.
When is a CMO-as-a-service beneficial?
A CMO-as-a-service is beneficial when your organization senses that marketing is becoming more important, but the right strategic direction is still lacking. For example when:
Your marketing today is primarily operational, without a clear long-term vision
Your company is growing and needs sharper positioning or a go-to-market strategy
Your marketing team needs guidance or direction
Marketing and sales need to be better aligned
You need additional senior expertise during a period of change or transformation
You don't yet need a full-time CMO, but you do need experienced marketing leadership
What exactly does a CMO-as-a-service do?
The specific scope depends on your context and needs. A CMO-as-a-service can, among other things, provide support in:
Developing a marketing strategy
Refining positioning and proposition
Defining target audiences, messaging, and channel choices
Creating a marketing plan with clear priorities
Aligning marketing and sales
Guiding and coaching internal marketing teams
Managing external partners such as agencies or freelancers
Defining and monitoring KPIs and marketing performance
This ensures that marketing is not only visibly present in your organization, but also effectively contributes to your business objectives..
Our approach
At Unikoo, we believe in a pragmatic approach. No theoretical marketing exercises, but strategic support that is tailored to the reality of your organisation.
We start by looking at your business, your growth objectives and your current marketing activities. Based on this, we work with you to identify your key needs and determine how a CMO-as-a-service can make the greatest impact.
This could involve a temporary assignment, a permanent part-time role, or support during a specific phase of growth or change process.
Our experts bring not only experience, but also the ability to quickly gain an understanding of the situation, set priorities and engage people in the change process.
Why choose Unikoo?
You’ll be bringing on board an experienced marketing expert who will provide strategic support to your organisation, whilst also being able to draw on the knowledge and expertise of a wider team within Unikoo. This means you’ll benefit from strong, personalised guidance, complemented by additional insights and support where needed.
We help you to position your marketing more effectively, organise it better and link it more closely to sales and the business.
We don’t just provide guidance; we also ensure tangible progress and results. This gives you a solution that is flexible in form but comprehensive in terms of expertise.
Building blocks of your marketing strategy
Your positioning determines which ICPs take priority, which in turn drives the value proposition for each segment, ultimately shaping the customer journey and your communication channels. Employer branding is built on that same brand foundation, but focused on the labor market rather than customers. Adjusting one element has a ripple effect on the others, which is why we always develop them in tandem rather than as isolated tasks. Through an experimental sprint approach, we systematically test, learn, and scale what truly drives growth for your marketing.

From brand foundation to visible results
Your brand identity forms the foundation upon which everything else is built: a consistent visual style and tone of voice that you translate into concepts, content, and digital experiences. If you develop these elements in isolation, your brand loses its recognizability exactly when it matters most. That is why we always align campaigns, content, design, and visibility, ensuring that every touchpoint contributes to the same brand image while driving recognition and results.

From website to AI-driven marketing engine
Your website, CRM, and marketing automation form the backbone of your marketing: without this solid foundation, AI lacks the stability to truly add value. That is why we first build out these fundamentals, focusing on clear data, segmentation, and processes and only deploy AI where it delivers demonstrable impact, from smart flows to chatbots and reporting. This makes your marketing data-driven and AI-native, offloads repetitive work through automation, and leaves you with a flexible, measurable stack that scales with your ambitions.

A modular ecosystem that grows alongside your ambitions
From physical contact to a long-lasting impression
Physical activations are most effective when the concept, execution, and follow-up are perfectly aligned. Without that cohesion, every action remains an isolated moment, a brief spike in attention with little lasting impact. Our approach consistently integrates these steps, from the initial concept to a lasting brand experience, regardless of the tactics you employ. This is exactly where our strengths lie: visibility, brand experience, and a scalable, measurable execution that all contribute to long-term results.
