The road to a well-functioning webshop can be bumpy, especially when you don't have enough horsepower. When adventure-gear dealer Offroad and More contacted because their former webshop kept breaking down, we decided to take care of their webshop.
Initially, the investment to switch to a new webshop seemed too high. So we had to make do with what we had: our developers did their utmost to make the existing webshop function as good as possible. The number of breakdowns was drastically reduced, and the user experience improved enormously.
But the ambition for the webshop was growing. And when the customer also decided to digitalise its operations further, the time had come to take a new direction. That's why we proposed to make the switch to Shopify. The user-friendly platform would not only serve as the basis for a renewed and modern webshop, but Shopify would also handle the B2B orders.
We added different integrations and even built a real 'Shopify app'. This allows Offroad and More to easily invoice and manage the company's entire stock, administration, and sales, even for products that are not part of the webshop.
After all, the stock at Offroad and More is much more extensive than the collection of articles private customers can find online. The company's most considerable revenue comes from B2B sales: garages that mount the materials on their customers' vehicles. The consequence? Not only must every screw, bolt or rod be available to order for assembly, but supplying B2B also creates a need for custom VAT rates and maximum flexibility.
So we decided to design a custom Shopify application. This application can not only enter thousands of products at once into the stock or catalogue but also provides the necessary flexibility. This way, Offroad and More can combine B2B and B2C sales within Shopify without worrying about VAT rates, OSS regulation, or even sales to domestic or foreign countries.
